As we get older, our bones and muscles naturally get weaker, and our coordination and balance suffer. Strong and Steady is an ongoing group program that includes arthritis-appropriate exercises. The 45 minute class consists of a 5-minute warm-up, 5-minute aerobic workout, 20 minute strength training, 10-minute stretching workout, and 5-minute cool-down. Exercises are used to increase strength, improve flexibility, balance and boost activity levels. The class is geared to adults with arthritis, older adults, and anyone who is interested in increasing their physical activity level.

The Strong & Steady Difference
As we age, our bones tend to weaken, we may lose strength, and our risk of falls increases. Engaging in regular strength training exercises can be beneficial. Several complementary programs are available, including NHS Steady Steps. Additionally, water aerobics classes can be quite effective.
Nonetheless, NHS programs are not only infrequent but also challenging to enroll in and often located in inconvenient places. Moreover, water aerobics typically requires a monthly membership fee, meaning you pay even if you don't attend.
What sets my classes apart is that you only pay for the sessions you actually attend. They are affordably priced, accessible to everyone, and based on physiotherapist-approved exercises from both the US and UK, specifically designed for older adults.

Strong & Steady Tai Chi
Strong & Steady Tai Chi is a continuous group program that merges aspects of our Strong & Steady class with the widely favored Tai Chi for Better Balance course. This 45-minute session includes a 5-minute warm-up, a 15-minute strength and stretching routine, followed by 25 minutes of Tai Chi and Qigong.
Participating in this class will enhance your strength, elevate flexibility, improve balance, and increase your overall activity levels.

Testimonials
Teresa was extremely welcoming and her knowledge of senior’s exercise needs and limitations was immediately obvious. She takes interest in all her students and offers an fun mix of music to exercise to. I met Teresa after I retired in 2011. I immediately loved the classes. Anyone that has the privilege to know and work with Teresa reaps the benefits of her knowledge, professionalism, and enthusiasm.

I am aged 66 and have Osteoporosis. Teresa's classes are exactly the type of exercise my doctor has prescribed for maintaining my wellness and strength. These classes have helped me immensely in maintaining my coordination and balance.

In less than six months, I have become more flexible and have developed stronger legs and arms, which have improved my balance. Many of my friends have commented that I move/walk like a much younger person. Oh, and by the way her classes are fun and always upbeat!

Moving to rock’n’roll music while lifting weights and using exercise bands makes Teresa’s 45-minute class fly by. Teresa’s classes have been a godsend during the pandemic.
