This program improves muscle strength, balance, and flexibility of older adults. The program consists of eight Tai Chi movements that have been specially modified for fall prevention. Designed originally by researchers at the Oregon Institute, it is proven to increase postural stability, coordination, to increase the range of motion around ankle joints, and to build strength in the feet and legs. Many clients also find the class meditative and calming. Tai Chi also can be used to improve sleep quality and reduce blood pressure.
Ask your health practioner if this class might be right for you.

As we get older it can be harder to focus and we can start to lose coordination and balance. Falls are a major cause of injury for older adults. Tai Chi has been known for centuries to improve all-round wellbeing and coordination, and is popular with all ages to improve mindfulness, focus, and balance.
However, Tai Chi routines can be difficult and slow to learn, and and there are many different types of Tai Chi and many different movements. Choosing which one is the best one to learn to improve coordination and balance can be difficult.
I am a qualified instructor in this American programme based on eight Tai Chi movements, that is specially designed for fall prevention. Developed by the Oregon Research Institute this evidence-based group exercise programme allows you to get the maximum benefit from the ancient art of Tai Chi.
