Dance Fitness

Dancing is good for the body and the soul. Dance Fitness is a great cardiovascular workout of original choreography set to classic Rock, Pop, Swing, Latin, Motown, and Contemporary Rhythms. My class is especially designed for the older active adult, anyone who hasn't been exercising in a long time, or individuals who may be limited physically. I also provide modifications and variations so that you can work at your own pace, within your own limits. The 45 minute class includes a warm up and a cool down.

Get Fit

Get a great upper and lower body workout with fun, easy, and original choreography.

Get Motivated

Be Safe

Go at your own pace and work within your limits with alternatives and modified moves.

Be Social

Meet new people, make new friends, and be a part of our community over coffee after class.

The Dance Fitness Difference

As you get older, it's common to become less active, to feel stressed, and to lose a bit of cognitive capability.  It's been proven that Dance exercise is a wonderful way to keep fit and happy.  Benefits range from the mental, physical, and emotional - and it's great fun.

But gyms and exercise classes are mostly geared to high-intensity workouts for younger people. Programmes like Zumba and Les Mills can feel unwelcoming and unsafe for older adults, with loud music and potentially unsafe and difficult movements.

What makes my classes different? No Spinning, Twisting, Jumping, and great music!  I do all my own special choreography based on years of dance and fitness experience, to foot-tapping music that make my classes more like a fun dance party than exercise.

Testimonials

This was great! I joined with a bit of trepidation as I haven’t really done any exercise for ages. I was made to feel welcome, encouraged to do as much as I could, and the music and clear instructions just made it better!!! Thoroughly recommend to others.

I am aged 66 and have Osteoporosis.  Teresa's classes are exactly the type of exercise my doctor has prescribed for maintaining my wellness and strength. These classes have helped me immensely in maintaining my coordination and balance.

I’ve been taking Teresa’s Dance Fitness class for almost 10 years. No other exercise class have I stuck with this long. She keeps the routines varied and lively. Love her choice of combining everything from Latin to African to Motown and even current hits. Nice pace for us seniors. It doesn’t feel like exercise when we are moving to the music.  Teresa rocks!

I have been enjoying Teresa's Dance Fitness and Senior Strength for over a year.  Not only does the 9am schedule give me a reason to get out of bed, I have noticed a real improvement in my balance, general energy levels, muscle tone, and strength.  Teresa's music choices and sense of fun combine to make her classes rewarding, enjoyable, and give me a sense of social connection.

Right away, as a new comer like me, I knew the classes would be a good fit.  Teresa gives simple and direct instructions and prompts in her Dance Fitness classes.  She often asks participants for input for her class play list.

I have been going to Teresa’s Dance Fitness classes for over 5 years now.  She has been a wonderful instructor. She motivates us with her varied selection of music and routines, she keeps the exercise program fresh by constantly updating the selections, and she is always enthusiastic. Above all, Teresa is a wonderful person and is a friend to us all.
